Indian engineer develops biodegradable chip for medical implants

Rahul Subramanian, a materials engineer from IIT Delhi, has created a biodegradable microchip that can be used in temporary medical implants. The chip dissolves in the body within 90 days, eliminating the need for surgical removal. It’s expected to revolutionize post-operative monitoring and reduce risks in critical procedures. Major hospitals have started trials in cardiac and orthopedic cases. The Indian government is supporting the project under its “Make in India Medical Innovation” program.
