Indian scientist wins Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences

Dr. Anjali Iyer, a neuroscientist based at Stanford University, has won the prestigious Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences for her research on brain regeneration using induced pluripotent stem cells. Her work has led to new understanding in reversing early-stage Alzheimer’s and other degenerative diseases. Dr. Iyer is the first Indian-origin woman to receive this prize. She dedicated the award to her late grandfather who was a rural doctor in Tamil Nadu. Indian scientists and academics across the globe have applauded this achievement.
